The striking maritime sunburst lichen (Xanthoria parietina) is a prominent species in Tasmania and can vary greatly in colour, typically orange and yellow but can often have soft greens as well. This particular one was spotted at Boronia Beach, a beautiful beach hidden in plain sight.
The stud echoes the patchwork with contrasting textures, while the dangle carries a durable powder-coated surface reminiscent of the rock that inspired it.
